Data Usage Policy
Plain answers to one question: what happens to your data when you use Creeklytics?
1. Your data stays yours
Everything you bring into Creeklytics — files, sheets, company data and the results you create — belongs to you. We use it only to provide the service to you and the people you choose to share with.
2. Big files stay on your computer
When you open a very large file, it is processed right in your browser on your own computer. The rows are not sent to our servers unless you choose to save the file to your workbook so it can be reopened or shared.
3. Company data is summarized where it lives
When you connect a data warehouse such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery or Postgres, questions are answered by running read-only queries inside your warehouse. Only small summary results (at most 200 rows) come back. Creeklytics never changes or deletes data in your warehouse unless you explicitly send results back.
4. What the AI analyst sees
To answer a question, the Analyst receives your question, column names, a small sample of rows and the summary results it calculates. It does not receive your whole sheet.
Text inside your cells is treated as data only — it can never instruct the Analyst to do something else. Percentages and rates are recalculated exactly before being shown, and anything that can't be checked is clearly marked "Not verified".
5. No training on your data
Your data is never used to train, retrain or fine-tune AI models — ours or anyone else's. The AI providers we work with process requests only to return an answer and are not permitted to train on them.
6. How we learn from feedback
To make Creeklytics better during early access, we look at how the product is used: which kinds of questions are asked, whether answers were rated helpful, response times and errors.
We use this to improve our own instructions, checks and features. When we review examples, we look at questions and ratings — not your underlying files — and we never share them outside CreekData. You can ask us to exclude your account by emailing support@creeklytics.com.
7. Using your own AI provider
If you connect your own AI account in Governance, questions go directly to that provider under your agreement with them, and don't count toward your free monthly allowance.
8. Access keys and passwords
Access keys for your warehouses and AI providers are stored encrypted, used only on our servers to run your requests, and never shown in the browser or written to logs.
9. Activity records
Each AI question, data refresh and change to sharing or security settings is recorded with who did it and when. Workbook owners can review and download this record from Governance.
10. Deleting your data
You can delete workbooks and saved files at any time. Closing your account removes all your data within 30 days.
